Why do some people read all answers to a question and then copy the one they like the best to sound smart?

When I give an answer, sometimes I look back and see what other people asked. More often than not, I see that most of the newest answers are compiliations of earlier answers with a few misspellings and "lolz" thrown in. why do they bother?
