Help! Just discovered i have got a busted head gasket on my precious car?

i own a Peougeot 406 coupe.V6 with an LPG conversion.i have just been given the inevitable news that my head gasket is gone.i have been told it'll cost me as astounding �1200.From what i have read,its the services cost that makes it so expensive.I havent got that kinda money,anyone got any ideas or spare time and the knowledge to help me get it done for cheaper
