I have a briggs & stratton 300 series lawnmower, but cant find where to put the oil?

Is it a 2 cycle or 4 cycle mower? If it's a 2 cycle you mix the oil with the gasoline.4cycle have a crankcase for oil.The 4 cycle should have a drain plug on it to drain the old oil.You fill it through the dipstick indicator opening.
